The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Sokoto State Council, has congratulated its member, Alhaji Hayatu Jibo Dallatu, on his appointment as the District Head of Tudun Wada, Sokoto State.
Dallatu is among eight persons appointed as district heads by Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu, an appointment the NUJ described as recognition of the appointees’ experience, character and contributions to society.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Usman Mohammed Binji, and Secretary, Muhammad Nasir Bello, the council said it was particularly pleased that one of its members had been entrusted with an important traditional responsibility.
The NUJ described Dallatu as an experienced journalist and media administrator who had worked with Rima Television Sokoto and Voice of Nigeria (VON), and currently serves as General Manager of Alu FM Sokoto.
According to the union, his professional experience and understanding of community affairs would position him to contribute to peace, unity, dialogue, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence in Tudun Wada.
The council also commended Governor Aliyu for the appointments, saying the newly appointed traditional rulers could contribute to the administration and development of Sokoto State.
The NUJ wished Dallatu and the other seven district heads wisdom and success in their new responsibilities, while praying for a tenure marked by justice, fairness, compassion, peace and progress.
