The Uniccon Group of Companies says it is set to unveil Africa’s first humanoid robot named ‘Omeife’, in Nigeria. The young woman, identified as Afsaneh, was arrested during recent anti-government protests, the source said. The Court of Appeal on Wednesday fixed February 8 for to hear Abdulrasheed Maina’s appeal challenging the judgment of a trial court sentencing him to eight years imprisonment for N2 billion pension frauds. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) says the average retail price of Household Kerosene (HHK) paid by consumers in October was N1, 041.05 per litre. The NBS stated in its “National Household Kerosene Price Watch” for October 2022 that the average price was a 9.90 per cent increase over the N947.30 per litre recorded in September 2022. “On a year-on-year basis, the average retail price per litre of the product increased by 145.87 per cent from N423.42 recorded in October 2021.” On state profile analysis, the report showed that the highest average price per litre of kerosene in October 2022…
A row between the US and Mexico over a plan by the latter to ban imports of genetically modified corn by 2024 deepened on Monday. US Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack warned Mexico’s president that the US would be forced to take legal action if no “acceptable resolution” was found.
